2004-2005 Winter League |
|
NJB offers an All-Star program where each Chapter's best divisional athletes get to compete for the NJB National Championship.
In Chino Valley the coach of each Division’s Championship Team is traditionally offered the All-Star Coaching position. If he/she is unavailable then the 2nd place team’s coach is offered the position and so on until the slot is filled. All-Star players are selected by the All-Star Coach from nominations submitted by each of the Division’s Head Coaches. The All-Star Coach may, at his/her discretion, select a maximum of two players not appearing on the nominee list. All-Star coaches and players must be approved by the Chino Valley Board of Directors.
All-Star teams compete against other NJB Chapters in a round robin type format. The initial weekend of competition (Area Tournaments) are between Chapters in close proximity to each other. First and second place finishers move on to Sectional Tournaments usually held the following weekend. Sectional Champions and Runner-ups are then invited to play in NJB’s National All-Star Tournament.
Separate tournaments are available for 3rd Grade, 5th Grade, and 7th Grade Teams.
Chino Valley selects a minimum of 6 All-Star Teams, one for each of our Girls 1, Girls 2, Girls 3, Boys 1, Boys 2, and Boys 3 Divisions. Historically we have also had 2nd teams in each of the 3 Boys Divisions given the large number of players which participate in our league. 3rd, 5th, and/or 7th Grade Teams are created as warranted based upon the number of player nominations for a particular grade level and coaching interest. |
